Salganik has teamed up with Princeton computer scientists to develop a new way for organizations to solicit ideas from large groups of people and simultaneously have those same people vote on the merit of the ideas generated by the group.

Called “All Our Ideas,” the survey tool melds concepts from sociology and computer science to allow an organization to quickly set up a free website where large numbers of people can contribute and rank ideas. The system could help governments tap into public opinion and provide sociologists with a new research tool.

UK researchers have developed an autonomous robot with an artificial gut that enables it to fuel itself by eating and excreting. The robot is the first bot powered by biomass to be demonstrated operating without assistance for several days. Being self-sustaining would enable robots of the future to function unaided for long periods.

You can build just about any app you can imagine with App Inventor. Often people begin by building games like WhackAMole or games that let you draw funny pictures on your friend’s faces. You can even make use of the phone’s sensors to move a ball through a maze based on tilting the phone. (via App Inventor for Android)

I am taking the next semester off, and am going to work at Design it, a strategic design consultancy tat you can find several of places around the world. I am looking forward to develop my skills within the field of service design and interactions, and can hardly wait for collaborating with designers with good experience to learn from. Now it is summer vacation, and Im diggin the good weather and BBQ in the park. Anyways, the point is that Tangible Interaction course at AHO. I am very happy about the results! Damn Elisa Briones and my self are lucky! Out of all the great exchibits from the students at our class Weird Connections won the Bilbao GLOCAL DESIGN AWARDS. (For the graphic design) Yes! We have also gotten good feedback from Teknisk museum. We are most likely going to exhibit the Weird Connections installation at one of their exhibitions.
